If you had the opportunity to do what ever you liked with your time then chances are you would spend all of your time doing those things that were good at.  Interestingly enough these types of activities may not bring you the largest return on your time investment.  If you spend all of your time doing only what you like you are not strengthening your weakest link.

As a prime example math is not my favorite subject therefore I usually score a little lower than I would in the other subjects.  If I were to spend time to ensure I understand this topic I would be increasing my overall portfolio of academic talent whereas if I spent my time on english I would only be enhancing these strengths marginally.  So what does all of this mean to your internet business?  It may mean that in order to succeed you may need to get comfortable being uncomfortable!

If you can easily create content like there is no tomorrow yet php is a completely foreign language to you then you may want to spend the time required to learn more php.  Doing so can allow you to become a blogging extrordinaire by creating excellent content and plugins to help strengthen your site.  It is possible that you may even be able to sell your plugin and write amazing sales pages to fatten your bottom line.

Next time you sit down to do something you really do not care for, take the time to stop and think about what you may be strengthening.  You may even find after you begin to grasp the topic that it is not nearly as bad as you had initially imagined.  The only wany you will know is if you buckle down and give it a whirl.
