Now normally my posts are related to internet business, however, I have to write a quick post about how you can unlock an iPhone in a single click. I purchased a 16 gigabyte iPhone from the Peabody Massachusetts Apple store yesterday. Now I use Tmobile as my cell phone provider so I needed to unlock it to get it to work. I had purchased some software on Ebay that guaranteed to unlock the phone in one click. I only paid seven dollars for the software and once I downloaded it I decided to Google it to see if the program was known to work. After all, I did not want to brick the phone I just spent five hundred bucks on.

After a quick Google search I discovered the software that I bought was actually open source aka free and the version I purchased was not even the most up to date version available. I would like to take a second to advise other iPhone owners not to make a purchase on Ebay a you can get the software for free. The name of the program is Ziphone and there is a version for Windows and Mac. Install it, plug in your iPhone and click the button that says Jailbreak, Unlock & Activate. The entire process takes about 3 minutes in which time you will see some dos like script run on the phone . After this you can stick your Tmobile sim card in and use your service. If you have the Tmobile total internet add on you can go into settings>general>network>edge and change the settings to an APN of internet2.voicestream.com if this does not work then you can use wap.voicestream.com. Leave the user name and password completely blank. If you do not have a data plan with then those settings will not work you need an edge plan.

The phone will also work on a wifi network if the network you use is encrypted then you will just need to enter your password or encryption key. I unlocked the phone using the Mac version of Ziphone and my roommate unlocked his iPhone using the Windows version. Both of our phones were purchased yesterday and so both have the most up to date version of the Mac OS X software on the iPhone 1.1.4. If you are nervous about the whole process have no fear, there is even an option to restore your phone to it’s factory settings even if your Iphone was already bricked. Make a donation to the developer if you can, it is an incredible piece of software and it is too bad there are jerks always trying to make a fast buck off of someone.
