Avoiding Pathetic Traffic Syndrome in Three Steps

If you have started blogging it is quite easy to see
minimal traffic for the first few months while you build a
reputation for yourself. It is during this time that most
bloggers drop out of the game leaving a dead relic of a
blog hanging out on the web all by its lonesome. So how can
you spare yourself from seeing only trickle traffic to your
blog? The steps are easier than you think in fact we can
solve this in three steps.

The first thing you will want to do and the best thing to
do is to write, write and write. Post to your blog
regularly to keep the content fresh and write articles like
there is no tomorrow. Even sites that have been sentenced
to the Google sandbox can be revived by writing and
submitting articles so do it regularly, daily if you can
muster the courage. Remember it is going to take work to
see results it is just the way it works. If you continue to
write you will be able to pop out decent articles in just a
few minutes every day. Just think even if you took over 2
months off you could still easily pump out three hundred or
more articles in a year’s time!

The second procedure you should implement is leaving
comments on blogs similar to your own. Now why on god’s
green earth would you do such a thing? You would be
absolutely amazed to learn just how many visitors are
referred to your site by reading the comments on others
pages. The more well written the comment is the higher the
likelihood of increasing your traffic. Many blogs are even
willing to allow you to plug in your site which will create
an additional back link to boost your page rank. What ever
you do, do not spam blogs when you leave comments read the
actual blog before you write a comment.

The third procedure is to participate in blog carnivals. It
is very easy to take your blog posts and submit them to
blog carnivals regularly in just a few minutes a day. The
benefit here is two fold, you will build and increase your
links and you will pick up site visitors. If you have the
gumption to host a carnival you can use Google’s
instacarnival tool to grab the html you need. Once you post
the carnival you can ping Google and grab a bunch of
visitors that are referred to you from Google.

Implement each of these procedures on a daily basis and in
a few months your pathetic traffic will rocket to
formidable traffic. If you set aside a block of time of at
least an hour a day your wildest blog dreams can become a
reality faster than you think. The trick is consistency
which is the downfall of many a blogger, do not let it be
yours!

Good tips, Sarah. However, instead of blog carnivals joining a site like StumbleUpon can be much more beneficial as it’ll bring in waves of traffic. I just stumbled this page, let me know how the “experiment” turns out.
